Composers have been adapting popular songs for centuries, but still you have to admire the courage of Denmark's number one guitarist Kaare Norge for making this "classicalized" version of Led Zeppelin"s "Stairway to Heaven" for soprano, guitar, and string quartet. The music is "groan-inducingly" hokey, but it's played well and it doesn't last as long as the average nosebleed.

når man kigger på listen af titler. Lutter gamle kendinge...!
Men i hænderne på den århusianske mesterguitarist Kaare
Norge giver det pludselig god mening. Han giver sig tid til at udforske
og udfolde selve melodierne ordentligt, og vise at de faktisk er meget
flotte, når alt det hysteriske udenomspynt er pillet af dem. Sådan
er Kaare Norge’s nye plade. En smuk og yderst smagfuld gennemgang
af hans personlige favoritter

En
af verdens dygtigste guitarister, den klassisk uddannede Kaare Norge,
har udgivet et nyt album "A Mi Amor". Her har han samlet 14
af de melodier han holder mest af. Temperamentsfulde spanske og latinamerikanske
melodier. Så er man til "Lambada", "Juanita",
"Hotel California", "Guantanamera", "Samba Pa
Ti", "Spanish Eyes" og Norge’s egen "Sentimiento",
så er cd’en en supergave.

Selv om man er til rock musik, må man tage hatten af for en mand
som Kaare Norge. Han behersker den spanske guitar med en sådan selvfølgelighed,
at man klart fornemmer den faglige stolthed, dygtighed og akkuratesse,
der ligger bag.
Numrene
er en perlerække af dejlige og fantastiske popnumre udsat for Norge’s
spanske guitar. I flæng skal nævnes: "Spanish Eyes"
(selvfølgelig), "Juanita"(Hoola Bandoola Band), "Samba
Pa Ti" (Santana) og "Hotel California" (Eagles) og et enkelt
af mesteren selv: "Sentimiento".
